Basijiyan Fund has announced that whoever deposits five million Tumans for five months in his account with the Fund, he will be given five million Tumans as loan. Now the question is: What should we do to avoid usury?

In the Name of God, the Most High

1. If you are not making the deposit in the bank in the form of a loan, it is not usury.

2. If you have made the deposit in the bank in the form of a loan and meanwhile it has been stipulated as a part of the loan contract that the bank should give the creditor a loan, this is an interest based loan and it is haram and void. Of course, if such a condition has been placed in the contract, there is no problem in taking the loan even though it has been haram and void for the individual to deposit his money in the bank with the said condition.
