Islampedia was inaugurated on the auspicious birthday anniversary of the Great Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, and Imam Ja'far Sadiq (a.s.) in the attendance of Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani and a group of reporters in a ceremony held in the building of the Porch of Wisdom Cultural Institute.
It is to be said that Islampedia like IslamQuest is a reference website providing answers to questions on Islamic sciences and disseminating the teachings of pure Muhammadan (pbuh) Islam.
This website is an online internet encyclopedia. It is a reference website and a unique source for researchers on Islamic issues in the virtual atmosphere to enable them to find accurate and reliable information about various issues concerning Islam.
Three phases have been predicted for this website:
The first phase includes data collected and prepared by researchers in the Porch of Wisdom Cultural Institute. The data is then processed and uploaded on the website.
In the second phase, other centers that are active in the area of Islamic sciences and Islamology are provided with the possibility to upload their information on the website with their own name and logotype.
In the third phase, the website enables the users to upload files and edit their contents according to the terms and conditions set by Islampedia.
In the first stage Islampedia will be launched in Persian and in the subsequent stages more languages will be added to it so that it may provide answers to the questions of internet users all over the world.
