Director of Porch of Wisdom (Ravaq-e Hikmat) Institute stressed on the necessity of unity and harmony among the officials to implement the "double endeavor and double work" motto.

In an interview with Mehr reporter, Ayatollah Mahdi Hadavi Tehrani director of Porch of Wisdom said, "As for the motto or the name which is chosen annually by the Supreme Leader, I should say that it is a national motto to which due attention must be paid by the people and state authorities and that it should serve as the axis of all activities."

"Double endeavor and double work is a motto chosen for this year by the Supreme Leader because of the typical circumstances which the country is in. In order for the Islamic Republic of Iran to reach its lofty goals, it is necessary that activities as well as the national effort be enhanced. In fact, they should become many folds and this motto refers to the same," he stressed.

Unity Urged for Materialization of 'Double Endeavor and Double Work' Motto

Lecturer of the Islamic Seminary of Qom in legal theories and jurisprudence said that implementation of this motto is linked with the mutual sympathy between the public and the individuals in charge of the affairs of the country. "Sympathy comes into being only when the people have sincere relationship with the authorities and they have also honest relationship with the people. This mutual relationship paves the ground for national co-existence and for actualization of 'double endeavor and double work' motto," he said.

"Ambiguities in the achievements of the Islamic Republic and chanting exaggerated and immoderate slogans and giving inaccurate reports can lead to the destruction of the sympathetic relationship. Media and informational transparency and endeavoring towards presenting the realities without exaggeration will pave the ground for national unity and implementation of 'double endeavor and double work'," he further stressed.

National Interests More Important than Party Interests

Speaking about the barriers to the implementation of this year's motto, Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani said that the political parties of the country should prefer national and public interests over party and individual interests and that the entire activities should be in line with the national interest.

Lack of Coordination among the Institutions Hindering This Year's Motto

He further added, "Lack of coordination among the three institutions (executive institution, judicial institution, legislative institution) is a hindrance in the way of achieving this ideal. In order for the ideal to be achieved, these three powers should act coordinately. The judicial power must be decisive in dealing with any offence at any level. There should be sympathetic relationship among these three powers, and efforts should be made to benefit from the advice of all experts of the country with reliance on accurate technical know-how in line with the national interest. These decisions should be made known to people in a clear and transparent way."

"The differences in the comments and views expressed by government authorities concerning major and vital issues of the country's activities especially economic activities can affect the implementation of the ideals. If a proposal is made or an action is taken which is inconsistent with Supreme Leader's emphatic advice, it shall hinder the materialization of the motto," Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani further added.

He said that if all the authorities are sympathetic with each other and abiding by the law to help realize the ideals and protect and prioritize the public interests over party and individual interest in a transparent manner and if they are sincere and truthful in their relationship with the people, we will witness the materialization of 'double endeavor and double work' and also the fruits which hopefully it will bear at the end of this year.
