Meeting Chancellor of Ez-Zitouna University

Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani undertook a journey to Tunisia on 3 May 2011 during which he met Dr. Salim Abu Yahya, chancellor of Ez-Zitouna University. Expressing happiness over the meeting, Ayatollah Hadavi Tehran underscored the importance of mutual recognition for expanding bilateral cultural ties in the wake of the recent developments and victory of the revolution in this country.

He announced readiness for teachers' and students' exchange program between Ez-Zitouna University and Al-Mustafa International University and termed exchange of faculty members and research personnel as a suitable opportunity for facilitating scientific cooperation and paving the way for further mutual recognition to exploit those opportunities.

Referring to the limits hindering universities to engage in free scientific and cultural activities and to establish ties with foreign universities, chancellor of Ez-Zitouna University said that the victory of the Tunisian revolution gave an end to such constraints and provided an opportunity for academic centers to act more freely in the international level.

He underscored the importance agreements for bilateral scientific cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tunisia and expressed hope that such agreements would be reached between the two countries. He said that if the agreements are met and enforced a great success would be achieved towards promoting cultural ties between the two countries.
