According to IRNA news agency, Ayatollah Mahdi Hadavi Tehran speaking Wednesday night in a seminar dubbed “Youths, Mahdism and Islamic Awakening” and held in the theatre hall of the Islamic Propagations Office of the Islamic Seminary of Qom said, “The day Imam Khomeini (r.a) started the revolutionary movement, he used the youths as the engine of the revolution because a great many people who accompanied him were youths.”
“The revolution bore fruit with the help of youths who knew the way and who sought the hereafter and were hopeful in spite of the repressions by the tyrant regime,” he added.
He further said that the youths believed in the sayings and words of Imam Khomeini (r.a) and in the realities of the religion which had reached them through the clerics. Thus they got into the revolution and it was due, largely, to their hope and correct understanding of the religion and their love for the next world that the revolution achieved victory. “These achievements were made in the light of the youths’ close relationship with the clerical institution and religious authorities because they followed the religious scholars as their leaders and role models. If this relationship is maintained, the revolution will hold on and survive,” he added.
He stressed that despite all the difficulties and hardship which may make the youths hopeless, the youths must be hopeful and believe in the Imam of Time, Imam Mahdi – may Allah hasten his reappearance.
Lecturer of the Islamic Seminary of Qom said that the values of the Islamic revolution must be safeguarded. “Today after more than thirty years since the victory of the Islamic revolution, we are witnessing the blossoming of the revolution and we must be careful to safeguard the values and mottos of the revolution more than ever before,” he stressed.
He further said, “Today’s youths must be much more in communication with the clerics and religious authorities. In the past, they barely managed to have relations with a well-informed and learned cleric but today this opportunity has been made available for the youths to have ties and communication with a religious authority.”
The one-day seminar “Youths, Mahdism and Islamic Awakening” was held with the collaboration and cooperation of Khadem al-Reza Board in a bid to assess the role of the youths in the “Rise” of the Imam of Time and also the features of the Awaiters in the era of occultation.
