Is it permissible to sell impure things like pork to non-Muslims?
I am working at a vitamin shop or health food store. Most of the customers are non-Muslims. It is to be noted that most of the vitamins or the nutritional supplements are sold out in capsules and I have noticed recently that these capsules contain pork ingredients. Given this, I would like to know whether it is true or not. And if it is, should I quit my job?

Ayatollah Mahdi Hadavi Tehrani (may Allah grant him long life) has replied to the foregoing question as under:

1.             As for the components of the capsules, you should refer to pharmacists [to tell you what they are extracted from].

2.             If something consists of pork extracts, it is impure and forbidden to eat, and it is also not permissible to sell it to Muslims but selling them to those (non-Muslims like Christians) who consider pork to be halal is permissible.
